Legal Secretary
The Goodhue County Attorney's Office is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Legal Secretary. The Goodhue County Legal Secretary position is a full-time, provisional county position for the duration of any grant funding.
The Legal Secretary works independently and is expected to be exceptionally accurate in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment supporting 9 attorneys.
The successful candidate will have:
Legal secretarial training or legal experience and skills; familiarity with court or legal procedures and personnel; ability to draft and prepare legal documents (complaints, warrants, family court orders, motions, notices, etc.) under general supervision of attorney staff; ability to comprehend complicated court procedures and decipher confusing information; and, exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills; includes client contact. The Legal Secretary must quickly prioritize responsibilities, cope with constant interruptions, be able to change work focus and accommodate input from several people simultaneously. The Legal Secretary must have a strong computer skills to maintain data on cases opened in the Minnesota County Attorneys Prosecution System (MCAPS); generate electronic complaints filed in the statewide court records system; and, maintain coordination between separate elements of the e-charging CRIMNET computer network.

Salary & Benefits
County employees receive competitive pay and a generous benefit offering. The starting salary for this position is $21.67 - $22.74 per hour ($45,073 - $47,299 annually). The Goodhue County Legal Secretary position is a full-time, provisional county position for the duration of any grant funding.
