The State of Connecticut Judicial Branch is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Grievance Counsel. The successful candidate will be responsible for serving the Danbury, Litchfield, and Waterbury Judicial District Grievance Panels with investigation of complaints against attorneys and referrals of possible misconduct, which may result in filing complaints against attorneys. The successful candidate will have considerable knowledge of law and legal process, legal principles and practice, and the Rules of Professional Conduct.

 

Starting Salary $31,365 – plus State of Connecticut benefits.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:  Considerable knowledge of law and legal process, legal principles and practices and the professional ethics codes for attorneys; considerable knowledge of litigation and the appellate process; considerable knowledge of and ability to apply relevant state and federal laws; knowledge of and ability to apply management principles and techniques; considerable interpersonal skills; considerable oral and written communication skills; computer skills; considerable ability to analyze legal issues, present statements of fact, law and argument.

 

Experience and Training: Membership in the Connecticut Bar and three years of experience in the practice of law.

 

Note: Litigation experience is preferred.
