Summit County, located in Utah, is seeking caring applicants for a full-time Animal Control Shelter Attendant. The Shelter Attendant feeds, waters, and cares for the animals, cleans and maintains kennels, and performs routine maintenance and ground keeping duties. Additional responsibilities include redeeming, impounding, and adopting animals by collecting and receipting the required fees, including dog license fees. Maintains records, provides information to the public, and receives and processes complaints. Knowledge is required of animal behavior, nutrition, and care practices, office procedures, and bookkeeping. Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and the public. Works under the general supervision of the Animal Control Director.
Salary Range: $15.13 - $21.21/hourly
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or equivalent and sufficient education and training to demonstrate an aptitude or ability to perform above and related duties.
Two (2) years of general work experience, preferably in the field of animal care or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be able to lift 60 pounds regularly.
Must possess a valid driver's license with the State of Utah.
