Environmental Remediation Field Technician – Irvine, CA

We are currently seeking an Environmental Remediation Field Technician for our Irvine, CA, office site.
Responsibilities:
- Has a high degree of health and safety awareness
- Works within defined scopes, schedules and budgets while producing quality work
- Maintains knowledge of procedures and protocols in accordance with program standards
- Helps to identify field related issues and makes recommendations to correct the issue
- Neatly documents all field activities and notes
- Performs standard remedial system Operation & Maintenance (O&M) activities, including sampling
- Perform environmental site inspections and sampling including Phase I and II ESA’s
- Perform soil, groundwater, and soil vapor sampling activities according to EPA and adhere to OSHA requirements and engineering standards
- Handles labor and construction duties based on the project requirements
- Coordinates and oversee drilling, subsurface excavations, earth moving construction and construction-related activities, tank removals and equipment & piping installations, etc.
- Interacts with clients in the field (as needed) to discuss project site related information
- Work closely with supervisory chain on effective, routine communication of field activities
- Adheres to Tetra Tech Health & Safety standards in all field-related activities
- Will provide his/her own vehicle and tools, when required
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, geology, or a closely related field
- Possess strong work ethic and problem-solving skills
- 5+ years of experience in a similar capacity
- Experience in field construction oversight / management
- Self-motivated, reliable, and have good interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work long hours in the field under sometimes adverse conditions
- A valid driver's license and clean driving record is required for this position
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening and have no criminal record
