UWMC Respiratory Care Services (Outpatient Pulmonary Clinics) has an outstanding opportunity for a part time temporary/hourly variable shift RESPIRATORY CARE PRACTITIONER.
This position is for Outpatient Pulmonary Function Testing only.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Proficient in all clinical aspects of patient care (i.e Spirometry, Plethysmography, arterial blood gas punctures, oxygen support).
· Proficient in all technical aspects of diagnostic equipment and procedures.
· Follows department policies and procedures.
· Demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot and set up pulmonary function equipment.
· Educates patients, families, and other staff members on pulmonary diagnostic procedures and equipment.
· Demonstrates effective communication with nurses, physicians, and all members of the interdisciplinary team.
· Develops a professional working relationship and promotes teamwork among all members of the interdisciplinary team.
· Documents and bills for services rendered in accordance to department and organizational billing standards.
· Demonstrates flexibility, organization, and is able to function effectively in stressful situations.
· Demonstrates proficiency in technology that promotes communication and facilitates delivery of care (ORCA, CIS, EPIC, Breeze, email).
· Fulfills the preceptor role.
· Fulfills the charge therapist role.

Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of a Respiratory Care program approved by the State of Washington Department of Health OR equivalent education/experience.
Legal Requirement: Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the State of Washington.
